The point of Seven-and-Half is to achieve a high total by taking cards from the deck, without busting by going over 7 and a half points, the maximum number of points you can achieve without losing. In Seven and a Half, the game is only played with 8's, 9's, 10's, and face cards. All face cards were counted as the "half" and the King of diamonds was always the wild card. This game is generally noted as the first card game similar to blackjack where a player could "bust" by going over the desired total amount of points. •
